Are You Looking for the Best Martial Arts Schools?

Don't Settle for Anything Less Than the Original!

Budoshin Jujitsu Schools are the only martial arts schools that will provide you with the complete package in martial arts training. Most schools only offer limited martial arts instruction.

What do I mean by limited martial arts instruction?

Just to give a few examples...

Martial arts schools that teach:

  • Karate
  • Kung Fu
  • Tae Kwon Do

These types of schools focus mainly on punching and kicking and provide almost no instruction on throws, holds and ground fighting. Without them, you are not getting the complete picture.

Other martial arts schools that teach:

  • Judo
  • Aikido
  • Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

are just the reverse...

These martial arts schools focus mainly on throws, holds or ground fighting and seem to have very little use for punching and kicking. Again, without these, you are missing a vital part of martial arts training. If you would like to know more about other martial arts, you may check out our comparison of different types of martial arts schools.

Budoshin Jujitsu Schools give you complete martial arts instruction!

Why is it so important to learn punching and kicking as well as throws, holds and ground fighting?

Quite simply...

In today's world, you must be prepared for anything!

It doesn't matter if you are training in a martial arts school for competition, or learning basic self-defense...

A limited understanding of martial arts just won't cut it anymore!

If you have followed the rise in popularity of such competitive martial arts such as UFCTM and Pride Fighting ChampionshipsTM, you will know that the emphasis today is on "Mixed Martial Arts" or "MMA".

Jujitsu schools

Now, I don't want to get side-tracked onto the sports aspect of martial arts at this point. Just let me say that the idea of MMA competition, that is, mixing a martial art that focuses on striking (punching and kicking), with one that trains mainly for grappling (throws, holds and ground-fighting), is a strange concept to those of us who practice Jujitsu!

Jujitsu is already 'mixed'. Well, not mixed, because it has always been complete! However, my point here is not to promote the competitive side of martial arts instruction.

Most people who study martial arts at Budoshin Jujitsu Schools never use it for competition!

Martial arts instruction, as taught in most martial arts schools today, is mainly for self defense, not sports. But even the world of street fighting is changing and you need to be prepared for anything!

There are so many different ways that someone may attack you (from the front, side or from behind; with weapons or without). It is foolish to believe that striking techniques will work in every situation!

It is likewise just as foolish to believe that the best way to deal with an assailant who has a knife is to wrestle with them on the ground.

In other words, there are times when it is better to strike, and there are times when it is better to grapple! Without complete training, you will not know the difference! In fact, there will be situations where you will be presented no choice but to either strike, or to grapple. What if you are forced into a grappling situation, and you don't know how? What do you do then?

That is where the superior instruction at Budoshin Jujitsu Martial Arts Schools outperforms all others!

Budoshin Jujitsu Schools

Budoshin Jujitsu is based entirely on principles from the ancient Japanese martial art of Ju-Jitsu, and has been proven over the centuries to be unequaled martial arts instruction in its adaptability to any situation.

Other martial arts schools base their instruction on theory and unproven street fighting techniques and tactics. Jujitsu is the only martial art used by experienced self-defense instructors and for military special forces hand-to-hand combat, alike! Why?

Because it Works!

And it has been proven to work time and time again!

Don't waste your time with any other form of martial arts instruction. No matter what promises they make, they simply can't offer you the complete package you will get at Budoshin Jujitsu Martial Arts Schools!

You can’t afford to gamble when your life is on the line!

What Exactly Is Ju-Jitsu, and What Makes it the Best Martial Art for Self Defense?

Jujitsu Schools
Webster's Dictionary defines ju-jitsu as follows:

ju·jit·su or ju·jut·su: a Japanese martial art using holds, throws and stunning blows to subdue or disable an opponent

This is a good description of the physical aspect of ju-jitsu, but the real meaning of ju-jitsu goes much deeper than that. The dictionary does not mention the mental and emotional aspects, which are just as important. You must develop all three of these qualities (physical, mental and emotional) to be truly effective with any martial art.

With the Budoshin Jujitsu Black Belt Program taught at our martial arts schools you will learn so much more than just self-defense techniques. You get the complete package which includes the history, philosophy, culture and traditions of jujitsu. This complete understanding of the art prepares you for applying it in the most effective manner.

History

The roots of Ju-jitsu go back more than 2,500 years. The martial art of ju-jitsu, as it is taught today, was developed by the old martial arts schools about 400 years ago as part of a combat system for Japanese Samurai Warriors. It is because of this ancient history, and proven battlefield effectiveness, that Ju-jitsu has long been recognized as one of the world's most powerful martial arts.

"Proven Effectiveness!"

Ju-jitsu is a complete self-defense system that incorporates so much more than just the punching and kicking popularized by movies and television. The problem with "Hollywood style" fighting is that it is so predictable. Even the novice student from one of our Ju-jitsu schools can quickly render this style of fighting useless. A truly effective Martial Art must be completely unpredictable.

The secrets of Ju-jitsu lie in the fact that it is the opposite of fighting, allowing almost instantaneous control over your attacker.

"Anyone can learn to fight. Only a true master
of the martial arts can subdue an opponent
without fighting."
-- Ancient proverb

Ju-jitsu's reputation as a complete martial art comes from the fact that it is a "parent" art of which many of today's martial arts are derived. Ju-jitsu already includes all of the elements of Karate (striking), Judo (throws and grappling), Aikido (joint locks), and so much more.

Because it is so comprehensive, jujitsu is more easily adapted for modern street situations than any other style of martial art. Simply stated, you have more "tools" to work with than the average martial artist.

If you want to learn more about the main principle of Jujitsu that makes it different from other martial arts, and why it is so adaptable -- follow this link to read about the "old jujitsu schools".

Another area where jujitsu has an advantage over many other forms of martial arts is the added responsibility of a martial artist to adhere to the law. If you ever have to use your jujitsu skills for self-defense, you must respond with what the courts consider reasonable force.

Different levels of force are required for different situations. If you are only trained to beat an opponent to a bloody pulp (as many martial arts schools teach), you may quickly find yourself behind bars, or at the losing end of a lawsuit, or both, even if you are defending yourself. Ju-jitsu allows you to respond with just the right amount of force to control the situation without going overboard. Learning to act responsibly is an important part of your training.

A Philosophy of Non-Violence

One of the most misunderstood aspects of Martial Arts Instruction is that many believe it teaches and perpetuates violence. Nothing could be further from the truth. Ju-jitsu teaches about the negative effects of violence, how to recognize the potential for violence, and how to avoid becoming a victim of violence.

In other words, Ju-jitsu teaches self-defense as a tool to learn the truth about violence, not how to be violent. In fact, anyone who has mastered a martial art like Jujitsu is bound to have a much lower potential for violence than the average citizen.

By learning ju-jitsu at our martial arts schools, you will develop a great deal of patience, understanding and tolerance of others. But most importantly, you will develop self-control, thereby avoiding unnecessary confrontations.

"Why should I learn Ju-jitsu?"

Ju-jitsu will provide you with one of the world’s most powerful tools for self-defense, in order to protect yourself and the people you care about. The training you receive at Budoshin Ju-Jitsu martial arts schools will also help you to develop confidence, self-respect, coordination and agility. These are just a few of the benefits you will begin to notice almost immediately upon your start of training.

Budoshin Ju-jitsu is especially valuable because it is designed for "Real People!" People, like you, who don’t have time to learn complicated, and physically demanding martial arts skills. A student of ju-jitsu does not have to be young, big, strong, fast, or in top physical condition to learn to use these self-defense techniques effectively. With training comes the confidence and assurance gained by knowing you can cope with any situation.

At Budoshin Jujitsu Martial Arts Schools You will Gain:

  • Confidence
  • Self-respect
  • Self-control
  • Agility
  • Coordination
  • And First-Rate Self-Defense Skills

"Is Jujitsu difficult to learn?"

Not at all! Ju-jitsu is based on anatomical knowledge and basic principles of leverage. At our martial arts schools you will learn how simple, natural body movements can be turned into powerful tools for self-defense.

Instead of relying on your own size and strength, you will learn to use the attacker’s size and strength against him. That is why you do not need to be big or fast to learn and use ju-jitsu (unlike many other forms of martial arts). However, you will be amazed at how strong and fast you APPEAR to be, when you learn to apply the basic principles of Budoshin Ju-Jitsu!

"Do I have to make a commitment?"

Absolutely! To master the martial art of ju-jitsu requires a long-term commitment. Six months and a "green belt" will provide you with only a minimum of usable martial art skills. However, a dedicated student of ju-jitsu will begin to develop both the mental and physical skills needed to excel in the martial arts after approximately one year of training...

That's still three times faster than any other martial art!

It usually takes three to five years to reach the level of "Black Belt" and even then, you will have only mastered the basics. But, even the basics of jujitsu are exceedingly more powerful than the most advanced techniques taught in other martial arts schools!

The confidence and self-respect you will gain by obtaining a Black Belt in Budoshin Jujitsu is one of the most rewarding and most prestigious achievements you could ever attain! It is truly worth every minute of your training at our martial arts schools.

You will need to commit several hours every week to learn and practice your techniques. The more you are willing to put into it, the more you will gain from your experience.

The Budoshin Ju-Jitsu Dojo

Definition:

do·jo -- Japanese word for martial arts schools or training centers. A place for learning 'the way'.

In the Budoshin Ju-Jitsu Dojo, our sensei (instructors) teach a common core of basic techniques that every student must learn, as well as a wide variety of advanced techniques and principles. Our instructors have a unique ability to break down martial arts into a science, where every movement has a reason. This allows students to progress much more rapidly than with any other martial art training program. You will quickly develop a vast repertoire of techniques that fit any situation.

Even though the workout is rigorous, in our martial arts schools, jujitsu is taught in a relaxed environment where it is OK to make mistakes, since that is the best way to learn. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions. A student is never forced to endure hours of mindless drills with no practical purpose.

With every exercise, every situation, every lesson taught, your mind is opened to the very principles of how martial arts really work. In no time at all, you will not only be able to "see" the power of the Budoshin Jujitsu system, but you will be able to utilize your deep understanding of the art of Ju-jitsu to instinctively create spontaneous and unpredictable responses appropriate for any situation.

"We emphasize the complete understanding of Ju-jitsu principles and concepts."

Learning Budoshin Ju-jitsu can truly give you a Real Edge on life!
