Frequently Asked Questions
About the 9-Lesson Combat Jujitsu Bootcamp
Below are just a few of the most commonly asked questions regarding our Combat Jujitsu Program:
Q: Will I really become Effective in just 9 Lessons?
A: Well, "Yes" and "No". The 9 Lesson Combat Jujitsu Training is designed to do a few things. First, it will give you a realistic set of skills and expectations about your abilities and limitations regarding your personal safety. Second, it gives you the battle-tested method to develop a self defense system that works for you. Every person who enrolls in this course develops a personal training method and a means to continue to train on their own. You will only become effective if you continue to practice.
Q: Why was the 9 Lesson Combat Jujitsu Course developed?
A: We did it for two reasons. First, we had a lot of people who wanted to train with us, but didn't live in the area. So we developed a method or REALLY training them so they can take these real-world proven methods of self defense and add them to their personal bag of tricks. Secondly, there are people who don't have the time to put into a complete martial arts training program. They only want to know the nuts and bolts of self defense. And to be honest, that's the easy part.
Q: What do you mean, I don't need a Black Belt to defend myself?
A: Definitely not! It's not like on the eve of your Black Belt promotion you will magically become a bad ass. Immediately, you will learn enough to protect yourself. The rest is attitude and physical ability. The more frequent and the harder you practice, the better you become. You would be surprised how simple it is to defend yourself. The attitude and the confidence come from your dedication to practice.
Q: Who takes the course?
A: Anyone with the desire to learn frontline, real world self defense. We have everyone from working mothers to Secret Service Agents. We even have Black Belts in other styles who want to add some reality to their bag of tricks.
Q: Can someone take the course more than once?
A: Absolutely. In fact, we give generous discounts to those who want to take the course over and over. We have several people who sign up repeatedly in order to practice and improve their skills.
Q: Where did you learn this system?
A: I am an Executive Instructor of the International Association of Close Combat Professionals. I trained under the strict guidance and teaching of Damian Ross, Director of Development and Chris Pizzo, President. They learned this method from IACCP Chairman Carl Cestari. This system is based on the work of World War II Marine hand to hand instructor Dermot "Pat" O’Neill. This is the same method used in close quarters combat, espionage and Special Forces operations. The collective experience between Mr. Ross, Mr. Pizzo and Mr. Cestari alone is almost a hundred years of martial arts, military, law enforcement, security and real world experience!
Q: World War II, hmm... seems a little out dated?
A: Don't kid yourself. Back then they didn't have "smart" bombs, GPS satellite observation, infrared night vision and all the other great, life saving technologies you have today. These brave men were fighting face to face with an enemy that was as well as or, in most cases, better equipped than they were. And remember, time and technology may change, but hand-to-hand combat has been around since the dawn of man.
Q: Do I need experience to begin?
A: NO - Even though experienced people seek us out, you don't need any experience.
Q: What if I can't make it to 9 Lessons in a row?
A: You don't have to. We actually schedule 10 lessons, just in case you miss one, you can make it up at the end. We also keep the classes small (anywhere from 2 to 12 people) this way we can tailor the classes to meet your needs; it's real hands on and personalized training.
Q: Why is this type of training so expensive?
A: You have to consider its true value. Considering that for private and semi-private lessons I get $150.00 to $300.00 per hour, it's not really that expensive. The tuition for the 9 Lesson Combat Jujitsu Course is not much more than you would pay for comperable lessons in any other martial art school, only highly condensed.
Q: How do I start?
A: You first need to register early in order to get your first lesson on us. After your first lesson, it is your option to continue your training, or not.
Q: FREE first lesson? Are you serious?
A: Yes! After your free introductory class, all you have to do is decide if the 9-Lesson Combat Jujitsu Bootcamp is right for you, and we'll schedule you for a start date.
Q: Ok, FREE no risk first lesson, I'm sold. Can I start now?
